Jeffrey Shaw

Jeffrey Shaw

Jeffery Shaw is a portrait photographer and has been a business coach for many years now.  On his blog, he has many wonderful tips and ideas for the photographer in business, to stay in business, even in reaching a higher end client and how to serve them best.  His blog includes many practical applications for anyone in business really. His overall business tip:  serve the people who hire you.  I think that this lesson can be applied to any business in any market.  Just look at Chick-fil-A.  They have a "serve the customer" attitude and are a very successful establishment.  I always look forward to going, not only for the food but for the service.

I suggest going to Jeffrey's blog, and reading through the posts yourself.  Not only is the lesson to serve others there, there are also ideas and motivation to over coming fears, and doubts that we creatives are all plagued with.  He offers them free of charge right there on hid blog too!  I you need more help, or someone to hold your hand, then he also offers coaching as well.  I have never had the pleasure to hear him speak, but I am sure he can motivate as well as he writes.

And while on the blog, hop on over to Jeffrey's main site to find out more details of his one-on-one coaching, his speaking schedule, and a list of suggested reading, along with his portfolio.

Happy reading!

Photography Spark

Photography Spark

Photography Spark is a blog by Zach Prez, dedicated to helping the photographer business owner out with business related stuff.  There are posts about starting your business the right way, and tips about pricing your products to make a profit. Many of the posts are from guest bloggers with years experience in photography business and proven success.  There is even a free e-book with tips on how to get started making the most of this internet driven age we live in.

There are many great tips on this site and I highly recommend checking them out, especially if you haven't been in business very long, or are just starting out.  I recommend starting with the post Sample Photography Business Plan.  It's always good to have a road map to mark out your journey and know your destination so you can track your progress along the way!

Good luck on your adventure

Psychology for Photographers

Psychology for Photographers

I just stumbled upon this lovely blog today.  What a concept to have help understanding how others think and feel about our work as photographers, and how they might spend their money with us.  Intrigued, I dug deeper.  I was impressed with the idea of having a more successful photography business, so why not go ahead and download the e-book: How Clients Make Decisions About Money.  After all, it's free!  I peeked inside, and it's got some good stuff int here.

Be sure to read the blog too.  Need help with your blog?  How about sales?  There's a post for that.

I recommend giving this blog a look-see, and why not download the free e-book while you're there!

Smiles,
Pam
